Paramount Break-a-Leg 5K

This past February I participated in my first-ever 5k. I mean besides being a part of Walk-a-Thon during elementary, and the occasional March of Dimes walks I was a part of because I was also a pre-mature baby. This was the first walk/run I actually 'trained' for. Now I use that word lightly, because to most people- a 5K isn't much. But to me it was. In case you haven't noticed I'm not the most athletic person out there. *shocker, right?* I would use my evenings to run. I started off by just jogging and walking a mile, and built up to running and speed walking 1.5miles. I use the Nike Running App for Android. I was really happy for the pace I was able to build up, and over time I felt so much more energized after a simple 10-15 minute run!

What's a road trip without Music and some reading?
Along with family I was part of the Paramount Break-a-Leg 5K this past February. I absolutely love Austin, the city is just so pretty and plus, great eats! We drove to Austin, and then we attended the Expo, the next day was the 5K. My dad, cousin, and nephew did the half-marathon, and me, my sister, nieces, and cousins did the 5k. I am super happy that after just two weeks of light training, I completed the 5k in 45 minutes! That is huge for me. For someone that doesn't work out, or run...and is actually pretty lethargic- it's one for the books.

After participating in the 5K, I would try to find the time to run, but oh..let's blame it on school... I do want to get down a routine where I am able to run at least 3 times a week. My goal isn't to lose weight (rather maintain my weight), and more so just feel better about myself and increase my energy level! Do you have any tips?
When in Austin, eat at Halal Bros
